Corporate gifts are a key marketing strategy
As for the selection of a corporate gifts for clients, the advice we give is rarely the same. What’s perfect for your brand will depend on who’s attention you’re looking to catch, how you’re distributing your items, your budget and lead-time! That said, it’s always useful to keep an eye on new promo gifts for businesses, as your return on investment will only increase if you’re a trendsetter rather than a trend follower!
There are lots of new corporate gifts that you can use to win business in 2020 and some clear themes that you’re target audience are predicted to be tuned into. Here’s a summary of our research:
2020 corporate gift trends
Sustainability is the name of the game.
- Usability – underpinning all good corporate gifts for clients is the need to be practical. Your audience will have them close by and your message will be reinforced more regularly. A practical product can support a more sustainable lifestyle too, with popular choices continuing to be refillable water bottles, travel cups and reusable bags.
- Sustainable material – Recycled plastic and bio-plastic products made from corn starch, sugar cane and castor oil replace many standard plastic items, including ice scrapers, trolley keyrings and ID card holders. There is also a growing range, literally, of sustainable wood and cork products, which definitely look the part. Wood trophies and awards, name badges, coasters and phone grips, with cork used as notebook covers, casing for wireless speakers, pens and more. For fabric items, organic cotton is popular and in a slightly geeky moment (we love our corporate gifts) we were star-struck by a foldable hemp shopper bag that is new to the market.
- Packaging – think about how your corporate gifts will be presented to your clients. You may not need packaging at all! If you do, look for paper based or biodegradable packaging, or a bag that can perhaps be reused. Use packaging to tell the story of the corporate gift and add value to its impact, as very effectively done with bamboo Ecoffee Cups.
Tech products will reinforce that your brand is innovative and forward-thinking. Multi-charging cables, wireless chargers, power banks and travel adapters with USB connectivity remain popular, with the emphasis on quality. For example, power banks that illuminate your logo when in use, and travel adapters supplied in branded zip cases.
Be distinctive! With corporate gifts becoming increasingly important in the marketing mix, promotional product ranges only continue to grow. Within the parameters of usability and the interests of your target audience, dare to be different. For example, we’re in contact with a factory that produces bespoke cotton socks from textile waste, which are supplied with branded tags in compostable bags. Ahead of Euro 2020 this Summer, why not consider mini footballs that reflect your brand? If you want to stick to a enduringly popular drinkware item, how about a Stojo cup which collapses down into a leaf-proof disc when not in use?
There’s a lot to corporate gifts for businesses and we’re here to help you navigate the array of options. Our promo website and catalogue showcase just a few popular choices from our promotional gift range, but our knowledge and enthusiasm goes well beyond it, and it’s at your disposal whenever you need it!
