To get your project off to a great start, here are the questions we’ll help you to work through before arriving at a specification.

Developing a specification for your self adhesive labels

How many do you need?

Short and long runs of self adhesive labels can be accommodated, yet volume is a key factor in determining an effective and economical production process.

What size do they need to be?

Bespoke shapes and sizes are certainly possible, or perhaps there is more flexibility in your brief, which could help maximise production efficiencies?

What will they be stuck on and for how long?

  • Consider the level of durability you need
  • Whether they need to be waterproof
  • The temperature of their surroundings
  • Food labels can be supplied to the BRC Grade AA Food Safe Accreditation
  • There’s a huge variety of adhesives, from ultra-peelable products to permanent thermal labels.

How do you want the labels to look?

  • Printed in single or multiple colours
  • Laminated, full or spot varnish
  • Gold or silver foiling. (See our print finishes blog for further info)

Do you need any special features?

  • Barcodes
  • Sequential numbering
  • Security features such as holograms
  • Tamper proof.

How do you need them supplied?

  • As cut singles
  • With multiple labels on flat sheets
  • If applied in an automated way, consider whether;
    1. The wide or short edge is leading
    2. They are wound inside or outside
    3. What core size the rolls need to have
    4. How many labels should be on each roll.
