When you look back on 2018, perhaps you’ll think it was an inventive and imaginative year that had flashes of Ultra Violet purple in it? If you did, the Pantone Colour of the Year may have more subliminal impact on your life than you thought!

For two decades, The Pantone Colour Institute has been the international authority on colour. We work with their colour framework everyday here at Systematic, to generate ideas, portray moods, harmonise your brand designs and consistently create an impact with colour. The Colour of the Year is significant, it influences product development and high street trends, as well as many elements of design.

The selection for 2019 is Pantone 16-1546 Living Coral, Pantone refer to it as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energises and enlivens with a softer edge”. It’s a colour grounded in nature and reflects a trend to seek inspiration from lively colours that we find in our natural surroundings. It’s seen as an intimate, immersive and optimistic shade that balances the onslaught of technology that we can struggle to escape on a daily basis.
